The Nicrosil-Nisil alloy shows significantly higher resistance to corrosion and oxidation than the NiCr-Ni pairing of type K. Especially in oxidizing atmospheres and with cyclic temperature changes, the type N thermocouple retains its measuring accuracy.
The temperature range from minus 270°C to plus 1300°C opens up a wide range of possible applications. The EMF characteristic curve of type N is almost linear and enables precise measurements over the entire range.
